Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Cowgirl Clue to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.
Cowgirl Clue is a Texas-born multidisciplinary artist and musician who got her start in 2017. Pulling inspiration from the South, the supernatural, her teenage years spent on tumblr & at punk shows, and runway fashion, sheās created a unique and ethereal world with her two self-produced LPs. The latter, Rodeo Star, is a 13-track album of laid back vocals layered over club beats inspired by techno, bro-country, shoegaze, and 2000s electro pop. Its release was accompanied by 11 visualizers and 2 music videos, solidifying the Cowgirl Clue aesthetic of low waisted jeans, boots on muddy fields, horses frolicking behind white picket fences, and pick up trucks. Iāve been under her spell since catching her live in 2021, and have sported one of her iconic Honk If You Believe In Fairies bumper stickers ever since. You can listen to Rodeo StarĀ hereĀ or find her clothing label/merch brand Clue WearĀ here.Ā Lucky for us, Cowgirl Clue is here to tell us what sheās into.

šŗ Lalaās in Austin, Texas
Lalaās is one of my all time favorite dive bars in the South. Itās a year-round Christmas themed bar in Austin that makes the best Margaritas. Itās one of my places to hang out when Iām back home and shoot some pool.
š The Irwindale Speedway
The Irwindale Speedway puts on a lot of sick events every week and the bleachers are full of people collectively looking to have a good time watching some classic American entertainment. Aside from all the races and stunts they do, they put on an amazing Fireworks shows hosted by Pyro Steve.Ā I have a lot of respect for everything that goes into the events they throw, because it is very dangerous and they are true performers doing what they love to do.
A few years ago, I had my birthday party at this speedway and everyone that came had the best time ever.Ā Itās such a cool date spotĀ or place to go out with some friends. Hereās a pic of me two years ago on the race tracks after I stole a pirate flag that fell off one of the lifted motorhomes during The Motorhome Mayhem. It eventually was stolen from me but I suppose it was a true full circle. Although if you happen to be the person that stole it from me and reading this, please give it back
š Going to the Mall
Thereās something so zen about walking around the mall. I love all kinds of malls, especially antique malls. Ā Itās the absolute best feeling when you find something one of a kind. Itās practically real life treasure hunting. I love going to abandoned malls, or hanging out at the Westfield Mall is very nostalgic to me. Meeting up with friends at the mall or going to see a movie is just so classic. I really think itās wild more current brands are not taking over malls again.
š Australian Gold SPF 15 Tanning Spray
I love the feeling of beingĀ sunĀ kissed with a tan. This tanning oil really amplifies a golden tone to my skin and itās just super classic, I feel like it was popular in the 80s or something. I love putting stickers on before I go lay out to give my selfĀ sunĀ tattoos. Itās the perfect back country-playing in the river-being feral kind of tanning oil everyoneās missing in the warmer months.
š¢ The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California
I love historical places and seeing so many incredible places shut down and beautiful buildings over the last few years has been, honestly pretty devastating. Iāve heard rumors recently that The Queen Mary might be going away so I feel like itās important to add this to my recommendations before they drop it into the middle of the ocean.Walking onto the ship you are just completely enamored by the gorgeous interiors, the history and the haunted essence it looms. Theres been so many concerts in the parking lot since forever and the ship itself is such all around a trip. I highly recommend stopping by for a cocktail at the Observation Bar and donāt miss scoping out the pool on your way out.
