Jeremy O. Harris is the New York City-based playwright, actor, and screenwriter behind Slave Play, one of the biggest (and coolest) plays on Broadway. The smash hit received the most Tony nominations of all time and made Jeremy one of the most talked about names in theater. Harris also adapted a series of real tweets into a script with Janicza Bravo for the A24 film Zola, co-produces Euphoria, had another acclaimed play title Daddy, and even puts a significant chunk of his money to towards grants and helping playwrights in need. Most recently he starred in one the best indies of the year, The Sweet East, where he and Ayo Edebiri parody NYC directors and riff for five minutes straight. It’s one of my favorite scenes of the year. Oh, and how could I forget, he’s a great bowler. If we started a league would you join? Lucky for us, Jeremy is here to tell us what he’s been into.

Yes…it is boring often, but also, so are a lot of other things people do. Whenever my friends would ask me to go see a concert that they were putting on with their band or to see them do stand-up comedy— did I think of all the bad stand-up comedy I’ve been to before? Yes. But did I still go hoping that theirs might be good? Yes. That is because I don’t hate life. Yet often, when I tell people “come see a play with me” they’re like “UGH I hate plays.” Theatre is really cool; there is often really really shit theatre and that’s ok. A lot of things are really shitty. Think about this: where else can you go and hang out with 400 people, minimum, and be able to sit and *something* over people possibly failing in front of you. It’s really fun! Go see threatre.
