These aren’t actually the best albums and songs of the year, they’re just our favorites.
Sorry for the clickbait. And sorry for the listicle. I do a songs/album list every year and 2023 is no exception. No rankings, no numbers, just music.
We had a fun year in the music world from getting a bunch of the best new Electroclash Revival acts on one bill with our SXSW showcase, to selling out the Snow Strippers’ first live show in New York City, throwing some NYFW shows and parties, and bringing Uffie to NYC for a fun night in an unfinished venue.
On the list that follows this nostalgic intro you’ll find a bunch of 2023 music recommendations from our world and beyond written by Alex, Vivi, Sofia, and I (Tyler). I’m confident you won’t find a lot of our picks on other Best Of 2023 round-ups, which all seem to contain the same albums in a slightly different order.
Substack kept warning me that this post is “too long for email” but I didn’t let that stop me from delivering a lengthy, high quality, recap. So, if this post is cut off in your inbox click on the title (up there ^^) and it’ll bring you to our website.
Whether it’s Suzy Clue, CLIP, Damon Rush, Bar Italia, or Melody English, a lot of really sick stuff came out this year, and you might just walk away from this list with a new favorite artist. That’s a money back guarantee (but not actually tho…)
Without further ado
