Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Manon Macasaet to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.
Manon Macasaet is a New York City-based artist, creative consultant, photographer, downtown girl, and filmmaker. Last year she worked with Heaven by Marc Jacobs to curate a temporary tattoo book featuring artworks by legends like Bladee, Ed Templeton, Harmony Korine, and more, but her first foray into tattoo zines was back in 2021 with I <3 Tattoo. She used to make a lofi web show called Story of My Fucking Life that feels reminiscent of Sofia Coppola’s short-lived 1994 Comedy Central series, Hi-Octane, an all time favorite of mine. There were only a few episodes, but they already feel like a special capsule from that time in NYC, and it also has a pretty sick theme song written by her best friend, and rockstar, Sabrina Fuentes. Lucky for us, Manon is here to tell us what she’s been into.
Without further ado

📺 Ugly Betty
this show has become my spice of life and absolute favorite. It makes me laugh and cry and run around my house screaming. I’m just like betty she dances to the beat of her own drum truly. She is always trying her best. Just like me af. The show was also styled by Patricia Field who is my idol. Anything she touches turns to glitter and gold.
🍬 Mariebelles!!!
This is my favorite sweet shop downtown. If you know me you know I love candy and have a major sweet tooth. This place is so chic and all of the chocolates are just fabulous little morsels of flavor with dope little designs on them. Best place for a vday gift and the NYC themed boxes rock.
👵 Being a granny
I love being a granny! Don’t get me wrong I’m very vibrant and fun and love to cut loose and spread my wings and shake my tail feather but only when it’s worth it. I miss China chalet. I don’t really like all these new spots that appear out of thin air and are gone in the blink of eye. I grew up in nyc so I got a lot of partying out of my system at a pretty young age. I miss the dope spots, things feel kind of redundant now I wouldn’t mind a themed party or masquerade ball but not in a corny way just in a fun way. In the meantime. You can find me at 42n studios working on a secret fabulous project.
👑 TARINA TARANTINO
Tarina is my favorite jewelry designer and sparkly pink haired icon. Her jewelry, the kidrobot capsule collection to be exact, has become a staple in my wardrobe. I seriously have done my best to monopolize the kidrobot stuff because it’s so perfect and jewelry from my dreams. You might be able to find her stuff soon at my fave store Big Ash.
