Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Lauren Davis to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.

Lauren Davis is a photographer and artist manager living in New York City. The list of people she’s photographed includes Yung Lean, Paloma Elsesser, King Krule, and Show Me The Body, guests of Perfectly Imperfect like Isabella Lovestory, Daniela Lalita, and Pretty Sick, and rising stars such as 454, Miss Madeline, and Evanora Unlimited….so some of my favorite artists. Lauren recently got her first cover with Trag Max for this epic photo of Yaeji. Her mix for Lot Radio rules and so does her FleetingCreation001 mix. Lucky for us, Lauren is here to tell us what she’s been into.

🏒 Ice Hockey

Don’t know a whole lot about the sport since I’m still a relatively new fan but I’m obsessed. Love to watch dudes scrapping constantly and running back and forth on ice. Also obviously hockey players are hot which has helped me get into it. Additionally, hockey drip is a solid 11/10. My favorite team is the New Jersey Devils and no I’m not from Jersey but I rock (pun intended because they play at the Rock aka the Prudential Center) with it heavy.

🎧 Body Bag 

Sweaty bodies, stellar lineups. What's not to love? Hardcore. Gabber. 180+ BPM. $10, usually cash only, will guarantee you a memorable late night / early morning. The place to be is whatever (probably) Bushwick/Ridgewood location they’ll be throwing their party at next.  

🦌 Realtree

Would love to learn how to hunt so I can put all my Realtree to use. For now it’s just for drip. If I could live in the mountains and be in perpetually cold weather I’d be content. Tryna be fitted like I am living that life already so camo everything is preferred. 

🇸🇪 Sweden 

Scandinavia in general but I’ve only been to Stockholm so it’s all I can really speak on as of right now. It’s such a beautiful and sort of lonely place. I felt complete peace and solitude one moment but so much energy from knowing I was in the place I’ve been consuming music and culture from for years now and even being surrounded by those people / artists. Need to tap into Oslo next (listen to Fakethias + Elusin and you’ll understand why). I really want to see what’s going on up there in the arctic circle though. Some of the most breathtaking nature ever I could imagine. 

🪪 Listening to music made for the driver’s seat

I will say I did get my learner’s permit which feels like a feat considering I’m a city kid born and raised so I’d like credit for that. I want to learn how to drive but I fear I’ll be a shit driver to be honest. Right now I’m just motivating myself to just do it already by listening to tracks that just sound and feel like they are meant to be bumped behind the wheel. For example, listen to: WESTSIDE STORY by 454, Frostbite by ESP, Bass Jump by Miss Madeline and ok ok by Bootleg Baby. 

🦺 Cave City (fka “Order by Disorder”)

Dope brand by Brooks Morrow (@swole.body) that perfectly combines deranged emojis and practicality into some of the most ideal swag I’ve ever seen. The trail cam hoodie is a work of art and I need to add it to my wardrobe (see recommendation #3) and 1/1 rubber boots are way too fire. 

⭐ Stars

Photographing those of the music + entertainment variety of course lol but also looking up at ones in the sky in Vermont after a day of skiing. They’re so sick, wish you could see them better in the city but that would make those weekend trips up north less special I guess.
