#276: Ren G (Club Eat)

www.perfectlyimperfect.fyi

Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Ren G of Club Eat to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.

Ren G and Chicken make up the New York City-based duo known as Club Eat that’s become a staple of the city’s nightlife scene with their electro-pop dance sound, hypnotic lyrics, and sweaty live performances. So far they’ve released a handful of EPs, cult hits like “No Sex”, and remixes for artists like Isabella Lovestory and The Hellp. Last week they gifted us a sugary single, “Bubblegum”, with a fun music video and guest production credits from Harrison Patrick Smith (aka The Dare). Lucky for us, Ren is here to tell us what she’s been into.

Without further ado

👭 Wife Swap

The best insight into true American culture I’ve seen on TV yet. Would 100% partake if I was a wife in the early 2000s. They don’t make TV like this anymore!

🫦 Carmex

Essential. Moisturises and leaves subtle shine. Also looks great over lipstick. Makes you kissable as fuck.

👩🏻‍🎤 The Fame Monster Deluxe - Lady Gaga

When I’m down and out, I always go back to this masterpiece. 23 classics. No one has done it like Gaga.

👗 Annabolina

Sex appeal, innovation, and glamour at a time when we need it most. My favorite pieces in my closet. Thank god for Annabolina.

🧑🏻‍🔬 Yasutaka Nakata

The mastermind behind some of, if not the greatest Jpop acts of all time. Perfume, Capsule, Coltemonikha, to name a few. I am continually inspired by his work. The Albert Einstein of Jpop. He reminds me a lot of my friend Chicken.

💁‍♀️ Blow Outs

I never feel better/hotter than after a blow out. Highly recommend for girls and boys alike. If I was president they would be covered by health insurance.

🎬 Quentin Tarantino

I love Quentin Tarantino. I re-watch his movies often and had a lot of his soundtracks on CD growing up. I’ve had a ‘Kill Bill’ original movie poster sitting in my eBay cart for like a year… one day I’m gonna say fuck it, order it, and hang it in my living room!

🗣 Screaming at the top of my lungs

Amazing stress relief. I do it whenever my roommate isn’t home or if I’m outside alone. Love doing it with a friend at the same time.

🥿 Ballet flats

Every girl should own a pair of ballet flats. Dress them up, dress them down. Perfect for any and all occasions. And the perfect shoe solution for tall girls like me.

🌮 Taco Bell

Simply fucking iconic. Reliable. Timeless.
