Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Clairo to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.
Clairo (a.k.a Claire Cottrill) is a Massachusetts-born, New York City-based singer/songwriter. Her infectious early bedroom-pop tracks, like 2017’s “Pretty Girl” (this music video epitomizes that year’s entire vibe), went crazy viral and catapulted her to stardom. She’s since dropped multiple acclaimed records and collaborated with artists such as Lorde, Rostam, Danielle Haim, Jack Antanoff (PI #423), and Phoenix. Her sexy and sophisticated third album Charm came out back in July and it’s already one of our favorite projects of 2024. Leon Michels’ soulful production perfectly compliments Claire’s delicate melodies, and the result is a record that’s jam-packed with cozy earworms like “Juna” and “Sexy to Someone.” The Charm tour kicks off in a couple of days with residencies in NYC and LA, and you can find the full US tour and tickets here. Lucky for us, Clairo’s here to tell us what she’s been into.

🛣️ Taconic state parkway
I am weirdly obsessed with this highway…. It’s so beautiful in every season. If I ever want to take a long and dramatic drive I hop onto Taconic!
It’s the best way to make coffee in my opinion, and I love it as a part of my morning ritual. Mine is yellow :)
This is my fragrance of choice, it’s so sweet. I really can’t live without it in a way, I feel very feminine in it. I always get a lot of compliments on it too!
🎶 Compilation album: Loving on the Flipside
One of my favorite compilation albums, I can throw it on at any given moment. It’s the perfect mix of sexy and sweet, sometimes sad. I’ve had lots of drives and cries and dances to this album.
🪓 Hatchet
Every household should have one.
💇♀️ Hinoki yuzu hair oil from Kindred Black
I don’t do much with my hair, but i do oil it every week with this stuff. The bottle is so cute, it smells great & it really makes a difference
📖 The Book of Questions by Gregory Scott
This book is awesome for a road trip, or just for getting to know someone. It’s a nice ice breaker. it’s a book of 200 random hypothetical questions. Some of the questions are absolutely ridiculous, given that the book was published in 1985, but it’s really fun to have on you with a group of people!
