Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked beabadoobee to share a taste of her taste on Perfectly Imperfect.
Beabadoobee is a London-based singer and songwriter. The indie darling had her first bout of buzz back in 2017 with a YouTube upload of her first song, Coffee, a track that grabbed the attention of Dirty Hit and still circulates on apps like TikTok to this day. Since her early DIY beginnings, Bea has gone on to release several EPs and albums while touring alongside artists such as Clairo, Taylor Swift, and The 1975. Her third album, the Rick Rubin-produced This Is How Tomorrow Moves, came out on August 9th and you can check it out here. Next month Bea will make her North American return after playing multiple dates on the Eras Tour. Her headlining This Is How Tomorrow Moves tour begins on September 8th with special guest Hovvdy on the line-up. Lucky for us, beabadoobee’s here to tell us what she’s been into.

🐈⬛ The Interpretation of Cats and Their Owners by Claude Béata
I've been really obsessed with this book I've been reading called The Interpretation of Cats and Their Owners. I remember taking a selfie with it and seeing it as a joke, and then it was the only book I had on holiday, and I ended up reading it. Like, I’m not even joking. It’s really helpful if you’re a cat owner, and it has loads of stories. The author talks about a load of cats she's encountered in her life, and I think it's really sweet. Loads of it made me cry, which was quite unexpected! It makes you love your cat like ten times more, if anything. It talks about why they do certain things – it just makes me look at my cats and thing ‘whoa, I have really amazing cats.’
📱 Vaseline Around My iPhone Camera
I’ve been very obsessed with putting Vaseline on my phone camera. If you just wack on loads of Vaseline around your camera and take selfies with it on flash, it will change your life. Put that on and put the Boost Filter on Instagram. It makes everything look really cinematic and blurs it a lot. So, if you're worried about an imperfection in your face, it basically saves the day! I've been doing that loads.
🎸 The Perfect Vintage Martin Guitar
I bought a Martin guitar for a show I played for Radio One festival, and it's a really big Martin, but I want a small body one that I can write my songs on. I've spent ages trying to find the perfect one. I’ve been obsessed with this for weeks and weeks.
👼 My Grandma's Sonny Angel collection
Just like me, my grandma came from the Philippines and she loves collecting things, and I collect a lot of Sonny Angels. She also has a crazy collection, and she basically has an original Sonny Angels collection - it's made out of ceramic. They're all really beautiful porcelain babies with wings and some of them are fairies, and I think I have about 30 in my house. It's the Sonny Angels of all Sonny Angels. She’s just the best. I’ve always been the kid to collect things, and I think it’s because I saw my Nan do it so much.
